20 Most Followed Nigerian Celebrities on Twitter

They are our icons, they tweet, post their photos and songs on several social media channels to build engagement and significantly increase followers.

Here's the top 20 Nigerian celebs with the highest number of followers on Twitter.

Wizkid currently leads the pack as he remains the only one to cross the one millionth mark. He currently boasts of around 1.05million followers and is followed by D'banj (838,935 followers ) and Don Jazzy (754,771).

Victor Moses is the only sports person on the list surprisingly and he is sixth with 624,199 followers just behind 2Face Idibia. Many would have expected John Mikel Obi to get close to this but it very much looks like Moses loves the social media more.

Genevieve Nnaji is 8th on the list with 569,780 followers and now proven to be the most followed Nollywood actress. Celebrity blogger, Linda Ikeji, also joins the list as she currently has 296,740 followers to be the 19th most followed Nigerian celebrity on Twitter.

Here are the current rankings as at March 31st, 2014.

Statistics in March also showed that Wizkid gained about 35,000 more followers followed by Don Jazzy and Banky W. The graph below would give a clearer picture of how much followers these guys get per month.
