Just when you think you have heard, read and seen it all, science comes up with something new.
Did you know sweating can make you, others happy?
A new research shows that getting sweaty not only boosts your mood, but that it can also spread happiness too.
There is a new research published in Psychological Science saying that a good mood is not only contagious, it can spread through our sweat.
The surprising new study was proven by taping moisture-absorbing pads to the underarms of healthy young men, these men were made to watch a movie that made them feel happy, afraid, or neutral.
After watching the movies, the then sweaty pads were given to women who sniffed them while the scientists monitored their facial expressions, the women who sniffed the happy sweat showed genuine smiles while women who sniffed the fear sweat showed indications of being anxious.
"This suggests that somebody who is happy will infuse others in their vicinity with happiness. In a way, happiness sweat is somewhat like smiling—it is infectious," said Gün Semin, a psychological researcher at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and the lead author of the study.
