Starting off with bare clean, exfoliated lips, using the applicator (that doubles as cap for the lip paint) Rihanna filled out her lower lips tracing out the edges to make sure the product is evenly distributed, going in back and forth.

She moved to the top lip, starting from the cupid bow, she traced out the lip outline and filled in the upper lip, going back in for consistency.
She made sure to get to the corners of the lips and gently dabbed out the corners of the lips to take out excess product and voila, in a few seconds she was done.
To go a step further to neaten, gently clean out the outline of the lips with concealer to avoid bleeding and you're good to rock a fierce red lips.
