Incase you haven't heard, red wine is good for the heart. It contains a significant amount of antioxidants amongst other things which makes it ideal for social and health consumption.

Now that we've established this, here are other great reasons why a lil red wine is good for the soul. It is however important to note that red wine should be consumed in moderation, as this is no excuse to over-indulge so it doesn't become counter-productive.


  1. Good for the heart: Red wine contains a significant amount of anti-oxidants which is a substance that removes potentially damaging oxidizing agents in a living organism. A significant amount of antioxidants makes red wine good for the heart as it

Lowers cholesterol: According to studies, alcohol in red wine has a powerful effect and increases HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein) also known as "good cholesterol" which lowers the risk of heart attack and stroke. The reduced risk of heart attack is also improved when red wine is combined with a healthy diet and exercise.
  3. Boosts the brain: Studies also show that drinkers of red wine saw a little more boost in brain power than non-drinkers. The study published in an issue of The New England Journal of Medicine showed a 23% reduced risk of mental decline compared with nondrinkers. Need we say more?
