You should never, ever, shave anywhere you don’t want to, just because you think you should. Your body is yours, and nobody can tell you what to do. However, you might want to shave down there for before heading to the pool, which is totally cool and fine.
But, it can be a little tricky if you have never done it, or haven’t shaved in a long time. So below are some tips to guide you through shaving your pubes right.
Exfoliating will help soften your skin and get it ready to be shaved. You only need a little bit and should use it after rinsing yourself with warm water.

2. Trim first
If your hair is very long, attacking it with a razor won't be very effective. You will want to get a clean pair of scissors and trim it down before actually shaving. It really will make a difference and help the process be less painful and not as time-consuming as before.
3. Use warm water
The warm water will help open up your pores, which will make it easier to remove your hair. You also want to be sure to wait at least 10 minutes after you get in the shower before you shave, so the steam can help open up your pores as well.
4. Pat the area dry
When you're done shaving, be sure to pat the area dry. You also want to moisturize a little bit so that your skin stays soft and smooth for the longest amount of time. Again, try to moisturize with something for sensitive skin, and without any dyes or fragrances.
5. Use unscented shaving cream
You want to be sure to use unscented shaving cream since any fragrance or dyes really shouldn't spend too much time down there. If you can, find a shaving cream for sensitive skin, since that area is pretty sensitive, and you don't want to put any harsh chemicals down there.
