A teenager faces life in jail for raping and murdering his cousin because he did not like the man she was getting married to.
An Allegan County, Michigan, USA teenager, Joshua Keyser, is staring a minimum of 60 years in jail to life after he pleaded guilty to raping his cousin and stabbing her to death because he was not happy she was engaged to be married to a man he did not like.
The 15-year-old Keyzer admitted to sexually assaulting 21-year-old Kassandra Keyzer in his grandmother’s basement, because he was jealous of the impending marriage to her fiancé and father of her two children, Robert Johnson.
The teenager also wounded his 67-year-old grandmother, Sharon Keyzer, when she tried to intervene, by cutting her throat though she survived the attack but later died five months later.
After undergoing two court-ordered psychiatric evaluations, Keyzer was found competent to stand trial.
Keyzer is being charged for felony murder and rape.
