A man identified as Kabiru, who is a member of the Oodua People’s Congress, has murdered 22-year-old Quadri Salami, during a fight on Adejiyan Street, Ijora, Lagos.

According to Punch Metro, Salami was trying to settle the fight that broke out when he was stabbed to death by the OPC member.

Report has it that the body of the deceased has been taken for autopsy at the Mainland General Hospital morgue.

The murder was said to be a planned attack, as Kabiru reportedly connived with his gang to kill the victim.

According to a resident of the area who spoke on a condition of anonymity, the fight was a reprisal attack by the Kabiru.

The resident said, “Kabiru actually asked a man to bring a chair for him to sit on, but the man refused.”

“He attacked the man and injured him in the nose. The victim mobilised his gang for retaliation and they wreaked some havoc.”

“Kabiru vowed to fight back. The matter was taken to a community leader, who asked the two parties to maintain the peace.”

According to another witness, some efforts were made to discourage Kabiru from carrying out his revenge, but all fell to deaf ears.

A family of the deceased, Nike Lawal, has forwarded an appeal to the Lagos State Government to ensure that the culprit is brought to justice.
