A 49-year-old bus driver, Napoleon Okonta, has been accused of raping a 16-year-old girl who is the daughter of a neighbour.

The bus driver, Okonta, was arraigned before a magistrate court for raping a neighbour's 16-year-old daughter.
It was revealed that Napoleon Okonta lured the girl to his room at Odo-Eran Street in the Ijegun Egba area of Lagos.
He was said to have forcefully pulled off the pants of the victim and raped her.
Residents reportedly rescued the girl after being drawn by her cries.
A medical test conducted on the victim which indicated that she was indeed raped by Okonta who is a father of two.
Okonta was arraigned in a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ajegunle, Apapa, Lagos State for the alleged crime on a one count of rape.
“That you, Napoleon Okonta, of Odo-Eran Street, Ijegun Egba, on December 27, 2014, at about 2pm, in the Apapa Magisterial District, did unlawfully have a carnal knowledge of one 16-year-old girl and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 137, Cap 74, Vol. 44 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011,” the charge read.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs O.I Adelaja admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum. The case has also been adjourned till Monday, March 9.
