Family of raped 4-yr-old blames police for freeing suspect
A bitter woman whose 4-year-old grand daughter was raped by a school driver has cried foul on why the police should release him.
The girl's grandmother who has been pursuing the case, Mrs. T. Ajose, said the culprit who allegedly defiled the girl on September 17, inside a classroom in the school and left her bleeding for over one week, was bailed out by the school management and that they have been doing everything possible to influence the police to bury the case, including threatening her.
Ajose reported that she was in church last Sunday when some members of the congregation told her they saw the suspect at his Ibikunle Street residence in Ipaja area of the state, though she also stated that she once heard two weeks ago that he was granted bail but didn’t believe it.
“I heard he was granted N200, 000 bail but when the school couldn’t afford the amount at that moment, he was remanded again. I was really shocked on Sunday when I heard he was freed and it was the school, who bailed him.
Since the incident, I have left my residence because the school management threatened me to drop the case. I just pray help comes. It is justice I want,” the worried woman said.
