Afeso, it was reported, had checked into the Jonaith Hotel and Suites with the lady, in the evening of Friday, November 27, and booked for the weekend but his naked dead body was found the following day, with caked semen on his private.

However, there was no sign of the lady he had lodged with, prompting suggestions she must have fled the scene leaving the corpse to be discovered by the hotel staff.

It was gathered that Afeso, an indigene of Akoko Edo, Edo State, had gone to the hotel with a friend identified as Abass in company with the girl and after consuming some bottles of beer, he booked the room for the weekend while Abass left the two alone.

A relative of the deceased who identified himself as Olufemi Oladejo, said the family was notified by one of his friends of his demise.

“When we got there, the management of the hotel told us they found the girl in their CCTV tip-toeing out.

When we challenged them on why they did not stop her since they both checked in together, they changed the story and said the video was of another room and that it had nothing to do with the case.

The hotel management said one Abass, who was their customer, reserved the room for Michael. We were told that they both took some bottles of beer before Abass left. They said Michael was alone in his room before they saw his corpse.”

However, the result of an autopsy conducted on the body indicated that the victim died of heart attack and hypertension but the family has insisted that the case had been tampered with and urged the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, to conduct investigation into the matter.
