Groom arrested in church for robbery
A suspected armed robber was arrested right inside a church as he was exchanging marital vows with his bride.
According to the report, the groom, Aaron Ackah, 30, was about exchanging the wedding rings with his bride, Rebecca Buah, when policemen stormed the church and arrested him in connection with a robbery that took place at Aniamote, a community in the Wassa Amenfi District in the Western region.
Ackah, was alleged to have robbed a Chinese miner of an amount of Gh¢18,000 (about N930, 000), after inflicting knife wounds on his victim's left hand.
A civilian, who led the police to the wedding venue at West Anaji told Starr Fm’s Western correspondent that the couple had just completed the exchange of vows and were about wearing their rings when two plain-clothed police officers from Bogoso, stormed the place and whisked the bridegroom away after using one of the invitation cards to confirm his identity.
The joy and excitement that accompanied a wedding ceremony was reportedly cut short with the arrest of the groom, as the bride fell and collapsed due to shock.
