Wife assaults husband in court for spending money on prostitutes

A police officer who has been spending his money on prostitutes, abandoning his family, has been taken to court by the wife.

The wife of a police officer who had taken her husband to court to demand for child support money was arrested on charges of assault after assaulting the husband in court over allegations of spending his money on prostitutes, the police in Zimbabwe said.

The Harare Police said that the officer, a detective, Mwanza Safuri, was physically assaulted by his wife, Tambisai Kaibos, in Civil Court for refusing to pay child support for his four children.

The assault took place shortly after Kaibos and Safuri had appeared before Judge Trevor Nyatsanza, who ordered the man to pay child support.

According to the police investigation, Kaibos head-butted, punched and kicked Safuri before she was restrained by court officers at the scene.

She said that her husband once lived with another woman for three months, while ignoring her and the children.
