Road Union Chairman in police net for alleged murder

A chairman of a branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers has been arrested and charged with murder.

It gathered that the 62-year-old Onibudo had conspired with some other union members to kill Ogunlaja during a meeting of the body held on December 3, 2015, at the union’s headquarters on 365, Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Abule-Egba area of the state, where he was stabbed several times by Onibudo and his co-conspirators after a disagreement.

Onibudo was arrested and arraigned at an Ebute-Metta Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday, January 29, for alleged conspiracy and murder, where the the president of the court, Chief Magistrate Afolashade Botoku, ordered that he be remanded in prison custody while adjourning the case till February 29.
