Social activist revealed that she received a report from a girl who claimed that a "popular musician" raped her. Investigations later revealed that he was accused wrongly.

A popular Nigerian artiste was accused of rape by a girl, but investigations later revealed that the girl was lying.

According to social activist, Esther Ijewere-Kalejaiye who is the National Coordinator of the Walk Against Rape in Nigeria took to her Twitter to reveal how a girl came to the organisation with the report that a Nigerian “popular musician” raped her.

Esther Ijewere said the organisation was hell bent on bringing the said musician to book before investigations revealed that the accuser was lying.

Esther Ijewere said the girl narrated that she met the artiste on twitter, who later raped her on a date. The social activist revealed that she pressured the accuser to report the case officially to the police but she refused. Esther Ijewere said she called the accused artistes who narrated his own side of the story.

Esther Ijewerer revealed that artiste provided evidence of a recorded conversation between himself and the girl as proof that he was being framed by the girl.

“To cut the long story short (so many messy details) the babe was not RAPED, they had consensual SEX, dude bailed out and the lady threatened to tarnish his name and tell people he RAPED her. Luckily for the artiste he recorded their last conversation where she threatened to Frame him of RAPE. I listened to the recorded conversation and read their chat history. I called her and asked if the guy's story is true and she confessed! i was pissed, very pissed. We would have locked up this guy, destroyed his career for a crime he didn't commit,” Esther Ijewere narrates on Twitter.

All efforts by to get more details from Esther Ijewerer have so far been unsuccessful. She has also insisted that she would not make public the name of the artiste or the girl involved.
