For threatening a man of God and vowing to cause injury on him, a 32-year-old man, Emmanuel Amaechi, has been dragged before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State, on a one-count charge of threat to public peace.

Amaechi who claimed to be a freelance writer, according to the prosecutor, Sergeant Oluseye Oyebamiji, had threatened to injure Pastor Adewale Taiwo of the Victory International Church, Ibadan, on July 17.

When the charge was read to him, Amaechi pleaded not guilty to the charge and the Magistrate, P.O. Adetunyibi, granted him bail in the sum of N150,000, with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to August 8 for hearing.
