An FCT Area Court sitting in Lugbe, a suburb of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, has remanded a 45-year-old businessman, Godwin Enema, in prison custody till June 5, where his case will be determined after he was dragged to court for insulting a female police officer.
Bizman to cool his heels in prison for insulting female police officer
For insulting a female police officer and calling her names, a business man will cool his heels in prison.
According to the prosecutor, Corporal Anigbo Paul, Enema had insulted the female officer while performing her lawful duties, by calling her names like 'stupid woman, idiot, WAEC frustrated prostitute', an offense that contravene the provisions of Section 268 of the Penal Code.
Paul said that also said that the case offense was that of intimidation, with a conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace.
The accused, however, denied committing the offence and with the prosecutor praying the court to grant him a date to open the case against the accused, the judge, Gambo Garba, ordered that the accused be remanded in Kuje Prison.
