Six contestants are eliminated, three make it to the final stage

After reviewing their Strivia Sessions over the week, the Pulse team cut down the groups to a final list of three contestants.

The last 3 days had happened for one reason, so that the Pulse team could identify traits, those that they wanted to detach from the owner and throw in the trash, and those they would want to mold into the next Pulse TV Strivia presenter.

So, when all tasks had been completed, the Pulse team, the judges, Pulse TV production heads looked at footage of each team’s attempts. There was some very cringe-worthy stuff that has found its way on there, but after some deliberation, the team finally decided on 3 final choices, one coming from each time.

Then it was time to let the contestants have this information.

First, to help them understand why the final choices were made, each contestant was invited to watch a mash up of their shots with the judges.

They would then get feedback from the review panel: Pulse’s Segun Akande, Abe Adeile, Cee Classic and Yewande Taylor.

To ensure that each contestant got his/her fair share of attention, they met the judges individually, in the order of their tasks.

On getting to her turn, however, the judges were told that Otega had not shown up.

Although surprised, the judges agreed that Otega should not be considered for elimination or otherwise as she was absent.

Finally, after all team members had been reviewed, it was time to send 6 people home.

Those people were made up of two from each group.

For Team Lily, those two were Debrah and the absentee Otega; for Team Rose, Abigail and Ibukun had not done enough.

And in one of the more competitive groups, the unlikely underdog, Clement came through beating Linus and Ope to it.

The 3 finalists are Sophie, Natasha and Clement.

More work lies ahead for them.

In the coming week, the contestants will take a more hands on approach to Strivia.

For the final round of ‘auditions’, the Pulse Team will meet with contestants at a place of their choosing to shoot an mock episode of Pulse Strivia.

They will direct the shoots, with a little help from the cinematographer, and almost call the shots for a full day.

The products of that exercise will be scrutinised by the Pulse TV team, and with other factors considered, the winner will be announced.

The winner will become the next Pulse TV VJ.
