This show is still playing it safe by refusing to go all out

After the pilot episode of

I had hoped that by the second episode they would come out swinging with bare knuckles. I was wrong about this.

Makida Moka, Bayo Oke, Noble Eze, King Cam, and Akah Nnani are still keeping it light and polite. On this episode, they talk about "outrageous & punishable social media behaviours."

I was salivating when I saw the title. Nigerian celebrities have provided enough content for this episode that could last a year. There is a deep treasure chest of social media blunders made by Nigerian celebrities.

The shady bunch did not bring their shovels on this episode sadly. They chose not to mention the name of celebs only settling to flashing the photo of erring celebs on the screen. That's such an easy way out.

The show is made to burn and shade whoever these guys choose to talk about. All we have now are giggles and cool jokes but nothing serious. The Shade Room presently is a playful conversation among friends and nothing more.

The present format of the show focuses on humour and bants. This is not a bad thing but when you call your show The Shade Corner, we expect shading, dragging and burning. We have not seen any of these yet.

Maybe the society we live in has stopped The Shade Room from going full blast. In America for example, celebrities expect to be dragged. In Nigeria, I do not think our celebs can stomach it.

Hopefully, these guys grow to be fearless.
