SA man who murdered niece after raping her gets life sentence

A South African man who raped and murdered his young niece has been sentenced to life in jail.

Fumanekile Zibi will spend life in jail for rape and murder

A South African man from the Butterworth County in the Eastern Cape of the country, Fumanekile Zibi, has been sentenced to life imprisonment after the Butterworth Regional Court found him guilty of raping and murdering his 14-year-old niece.

Zibi allegedly kidnapped the girl in 2013 and raped her several times before killing her to cover up his crimes.

The Eastern Cape Police say Zibi  also received four years in jail for the kidnap as well as two other counts, making up a four-counts charge.
