Quack doctor is soup over death of married woman during abortion

A quack doctor whose abortion led to the death of a married woman has been arrested.

Abortion is not legal in Nigeria

A quack doctor in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, identified as Dr. Nsikak Ekpe, has been arrested by the police for allegedly causing the death of a married woman who went to him to procure an abortion for an illegitimate pregnancy.

According to reports, the woman, Mrs. Udeme Umoh, had been having an extra-marital affair with one of Ekpe's friend and when she got pregnant, she decided to abort it so that her husband would not know about it.

The quack doctor who is said to be a drop out from a School of Health Technology and had been running an illegal abortion clinic, decided to carry out the abortion. He had successfully evacuated the woman's womb but after some days, she developed some complications and her husband rushed her to a private hospital where it was discovered that she had just had an abortion.

On the verge of death, Udeme reportedly confessed and shortly after, gave up the ghost. Her husband then reported the matter to the police and the quack doctor as well as the lover boy were arrested and are currently telling the police all the know about the issue.
