Man ditches fiancée to dress, live as a dog

Theatre technician, Tom, aged 32, is reported to love dressing up as a puppy and when faced with an ultimatum by his fiancée, Rachel, to decide what he loved the most, she had ended up with the short end of the stick.

As strange as it might seem, a man has reportedly ditched his fiancée, marriage and life as a man so he can play dress up and live out the rest of his life as a dog.

Theatre technician, Tom, aged 32, is reported to love dressing up as a puppy and when faced with an ultimatum by his fiancée, Rachel, to decide what he loved the most, she had ended up with the short end of the stick.

The reports reveal that Tom who has been crowned "Mr Puppy UK", is just one out of many other "human pups" featured on Channel 4's latest documentary, "Secret Life of Human Pups", which reportedly explores the weird world of grown men who enjoy dressing up as dogs.

The way of life has about 10,000 followers in the UK alone and they are all interested in pup play and being kept on a leash by their 'handlers'.

Tom who had according to the reports, split from his fiancé Rachel simply for his love for dressing up as a dalmatian breed called, Spot, has spent about £4,000 over the ten years he has being enjoying the life he has chosen for himself.

During an interview, Tom explains:

"You disappear, you start chasing puppy toys and people give you ear scratches and treat you like a puppy. You disappear so much into the head space that you don't stop to think but you crave it and you want it and you wish for it. It's magic, it just really is genuinely magic. I am strongly happily, proud of who I am and what I look like and I don't care about what anyone else thinks."

Tom's ex, Rachel, who is surprisingly, still friends with him and even allows him to store his outfit at her home, says:

"He wanted to be able to explore different avenues and I just didn't understand it. I didn't want to understand it then.

"It was him having to make a choice between what he wanted to do or me, and it was a better choice for him. He is two different things when he is Spot and when he is Tom, which is what I suppose I walked away from."

Following his breakup from Rachel, Tom has reportedly moved in with his 'handler', Colin, but there is zero romantic involvement between the pair who insist it is just purely the fun of the pup play.
