A drugged man has told the police he beheaded his wife to rid her of evil spirits.
A Phoenix, USA man, Kenneth-Dale Wakefield, gave court officials a shocking reason why he beheaded his wife, 49-year-old Trina Heisch, and her two dogs in tow: to rid them of evil spirits.
The 43-years-old Wakefield, according to Latest.com, also told authorities that he had smoked marijuana and designer drug spice before he heard a voice that he wife and her dogs had some evil spirits tormenting them and to rid them of the spirits, he should cut off their heads.
The prosecutor said that Wakefield, had a history of mental illness and was booked into a Maricopa County jail on August 1, on one-count of first-degree murder and two counts of animal cruelty after being released from a local hospital.
The prosecutor said he was held on $2 million and was expected to appear in court for a status conference on August 7.
Police said in a court paper that Wakefield stabbed Heisch multiple times before decapitating her and killed the dogs by cutting their heads off.
Police also said that Wakefield also severed his left arm at the elbow and gouged out one of his eyes before being discovered.
