A group of Indian Hemp (Igbo) smokers have killed a 29-year-old man, Nansoh Emmanuel Wardam, because he unknowingly poured water on them while they were enjoying their smoke, reports Punch.

The incident which happened in the Television area of Kaduna State, according to eyewitnesses, saw the hoodlums stabbing Wardam to death with knives and broken bottles.

According to the eye witnesses, the deceased, a father of one, had come to the area from the Nassarawa area also in the state, to collect some money from his friend identified as Monday, who was also stabbed by the thugs, when he mistakenly stepped on a plank that fell into a drainage and splashed water on the miscreants who were smoking Indian Hemp and other hard drugs along Jaba road by the Village Head’s house.

This resulted in a mild argument which eventually led to the thugs stabbing Wardam and Monday. It was learnt that Wardam was rushed to COCIN Hospital in Television, then to Gwamna Awan Hospital in Nassarawa, and then to Barau Dikko Hospital, before being finally brought to St. Geralds Hospital, where he died.

It was gathered that the late Wardam got infected with tetanus following poor treatment he received in the several hospitals he was taken to.

The deceased was said to be the son of the Chairman of the Kaduna State Chapter of the Coalition of Closed Unpaid Textiles Workers, Comrade Wardam Simdik.
