For snatching a bag from a man coming back from church, thinking it contained a huge sum of money, only to realise it was only the Holy Bible, two men, Augustine Victor and Richard Ejiofor, have been sent to jail for two months with no option of a fine.

The convicts who are 28 and 20 years old respectively, had allegedly robbed the man at the Igbo Elerin Junction along Badagry Expressway in Ojo, Lagos State, while he was waiting for a bus on his way back from church and snatched the bag, thinking that it contained a huge sum of money.

But luck ran out on them as they were arrested shortly after by a police patrol team which happened to get to the scene at the same tome.

During their interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed that they thought there was money in the bag and that they did not intend to steal the Bible.
