The convicts who are 28 and 20 years old respectively, had allegedly robbed the man at the Igbo Elerin Junction along Badagry Expressway in Ojo, Lagos State, while he was waiting for a bus on his way back from church and snatched the bag, thinking that it contained a huge sum of money.

But luck ran out on them as they were arrested shortly after by a police patrol team which happened to get to the scene at the same tome.

During their interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed that they thought there was money in the bag and that they did not intend to steal the Bible.

When they were arraigned at a Lagos State Magistrates' Court on a one-count charge of stealing, the judge sentenced them to two months imprisonment with hard labour.
