Driver hits pedestrian, absconds with body

An unidentified driver hit a pedestrian fatally and absconded with the corpse in Bayelsa

A manhunt has been launched by the Bayelsa State Command for an unidentified driver of a Nissan Sport Utility Vehicle  for the alleged killing of a man and absconding with the corpse along the Ogbogoro community road in Yenagoa local government area of the state.

The hit-and-run occurred on Tuesday at about 7pm along the Ogbogoro-Famgbe road and caused pandemonium in the area, Vanguard reports.Though the prompt response of a team of police special Op’s on patrol in the area, according to an eyewitness led to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle, “the owner drove away amid a crowd of sympathizers.”

The deceased, 34, was taking a stroll along the Ogbogoro road when he was hit from behind.
