Suspect hands himself to police 3 years after allegedly killing boss
A man who murdered his boss and fled three years ago has handed himself over to the police after he became born again.
The suspect who worked for the woman as the manager of her sachet water company, allegedly killed the victim on July 21, 2012, at about 8p.m following a disagreement and made away with her Blackberry phone.
The suspect was subsequently declared wanted by the police and just when the case had recorded to headway, he decided to come out of hiding and hand himself over to the police.
Admitting to the killing of the woman, Chimezie said:
“There is this spirit that sometimes takes control of me and asks me to do things.
In 2005, I was living with my elder brother in Aba. The same spirit came to me and forced me to kill my brother. I strangled him.
This spirit was asking me to commit suicide. But I met a man of God who delivered me. I made a confession to him and turned myself over to the Police.”
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ezekiel Onyeke, confirmed the incident, saying Chimezie handed himself to the police of his own accord and would be charged to court after investigations.
