Readers say Michael should forgive Nkem

But after three years, God changed his situation and now, Nkem wants to come back to him, sending people to beg him on her behalf.

Should he forgive and take her back?

"My name is Michael, a 48-year-old man with four children. I have a very pathetic and sad story of betrayal and treachery from a woman I loved and trusted so much.

When I got married to Nkem, I was doing very well in my job though I was not making so much money, I was able to take care of my family to the best of my ability.

With the coming of our babies, I had to tell her to stop resign from her job so as to have time to take care of the kids. But after a while, she told me she was bored just staying at home, so I opened a shop for her with the hope that she would be able to contribute to the house.

I was not expecting her to do much apart from occasionally helping out but my wife did not care what happened in the house as I was saddled with every responsibility including little things like salt and pepper.

I did not bother much because I was making good morning from some deals that were coming in at my office.

But something happened when external auditors were invited to check the books and many of us were indicted and before I knew it, I was arrested by the police alongside other staff members.

It happened so fast that before I knew what was happening, the police moved in and confiscated many of my properties including a land I had bought and was developing. They took my car, closed my bank account and clamped me into prison for close to one year.

By the time I regained my freedom, I had lost everything I had and life became very difficult for me. I had expected my wife to come to my aid in such a difficult situation but what she did was the most shocking experience I ever expected.

Nkem left me and our four children when she could no longer cope with the situation. The day she parked out of the house, I remember how our children and other neighbours cried and begged her to change her mind but she was beyond care, saying she could not die in the hands of a man who could not take care of her.

For three months, I was not myself as I found it difficult to feed my children or pay their school fees.

My landlord was so kind that he allowed me to stay in the apartment for as long as it took me to get myself together. Neighbours were the ones who fed my children and gave me some pocket money here and there.

I combed the streets of Lagos looking for jobs but to no avail. In those dark moments, I contemplated committing suicide several times but at the last moment, I always restrained myself for the sake of my children.

After being in such situation for five years, God smiled on me in the form of a church member. I was not ashamed to tell people about my situation as I did not know where help could come.

It came when I met , a contractor and an importer of spare parts who needed someone to handle a business proposal for him with a state government in the East.

Ndu, despite his wealth, was a stark illiterate and wanted a learned person to help liaise with the government and when he told me what he wanted, I quickly accepted his offer.

To cut the long story short, I was able to clinch the contract which ran into millions of Naira. Ndubuisi was so impressed that he offered me a partnership in the business and within a short time, things took a dramatic turn.

Overnight, the tide turned. I was able to pay my landlord all the accumulated rent I owed him though he had initially refused to collect the money. My children returned to their elite schools while I am on the verge of completing my own building.

Now, the problem is that Nkem wants to come back now that God has blessed me and turned my story around. She has been sending people to beg on her behalf, claiming she was misled and regretted her actions.

I am not favorably disposed to her coming back to my life and my children too are not happy with her but then, they still need their mother.
