Obesere Released From Custody on Bail

Following the sequence of events that led to the allegations of rape against Obesere, the musician has been released due to absence of a witness.

With the investigations on the rape saga still going on, reports have it that Obesere, Nigeria’s popular Fuji singer, has been released on bail. This release was made after the singer posted bail after it was concluded that he couldn't pose a flight risk.

According to police sources, since Obesere wasn’t a flight risk, he could be released on bail, pending further investigations. He said that since the woman came to his house willingly, and there were no eye witnesses apart from the affected parties, conclusions on whether it was indeed a rape case could not be made.

Meanwhile, Obesere had gone on a television show last week to state his own side of the story, claiming that the victim, Miss Olanike Olaiya was not raped but rather was framing him. A lot of controversies have been trailing this case since it started, and we cannot but smell a rat. Do you?
