A 29-year-old printer, Luke Adeyemi, has been docked at the Ogudu Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos State for allegedly raping his neighbour’s 12-year-old daughter Daily Post reports.

According to the police prosecutor, Sergeant Lucky Ihiehie, the father of the victim reported the incident to the Ketu Police Station, explaining that Adeyemi had unlawful carnal knowledge of his daughter.

Ihiehie said the complainant told the police that his daughter revealed to him that the accused had sex with her twice in his house.

“The first time he raped her was was on September 17, 2016, when she went to his house to borrow a phone charger and he dragged her into his room.

The second time was about two weeks ago when she was sent on an errand by her mother to their landlord,” Ihiehie said.

The prosecutor added that offenses contravened Sections 137 and 260 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

When the two count charges of defilement and rape were read to the accused, he, however, pleaded not guilty with his counsel, A.O. Olusegun, urging the court to be lenient and grant him bail.

In her ruling, the Magistrate, O. Sule-Amzat, granted Adeyemi bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum, one of whom must be his blood relation, and adjourned the case till November 16, for a mention.
