Mercy Johnson Okojie

Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson Okojie was born in Lagos on August 28, 1984, although she is a native of Okene in Kogi state.

The sexy mother of one made her acting debut in the movie, "The Maid" and has featured in over 60 movies since then. Mercy has revealed that growing up was tough and she had difficulties paying her school fees most times. She also revealed that she worked as a housemaid to survive. Her grass to grace story is one of the things that has endeared the actress to her fans and in 2013, she won the Best Actress in a Comedy Award at the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) for her role in the comedy film "Dumebi the Dirty Girl".

In 2011, she wed husband Prince Odianose Okojie amidst raging controversy as her husband's ex-wife claimed that she was still married to him. The couple welcomed their first child, Purity Okojie in December 2012.
