The Pulse Nigeria Poll of Thursday, February 18, was focused on the brutality and the violation of the rights of citizens by the police.

Read here:

The Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, has continued to warn police officers not to violate the rights of members of the public, urging them to be civil when dealing with people.

But despite this warning and several reprimands, police officers seem to be a law on to themselves, carrying on as if the ordinary citizens are animals and should be treated with disdain and disregard.

We have seen situations where officers brutalize and dehumanise people with reckless abandon. Some have outrightly killed, maimed and torture offenders as if thy have no rights at all.

This has brought a lot of outcry by members of the public with the IGP urged to take urgent steps to stop his men from brutalizing people.

The teaser for the day was:

What should be done to police officers who brutalize citizens?

How Nigeria voted:

5% - They should be dismissed from the force

67% - They should be charged to court and jailed

3% - They should be made to pay compensation

33% - They should be made to face the same punishment they give people

How would you vote here?
