95% of Pulse Nigeria Poll voters say the y prefer a corrupt politician getting a life jail term instead of a petty criminal.
Last week, a judge of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, sentenced a 32-year-old man, Lawrence Aluagu, for peddling Marijuana, popularly called Indian Hemp in this parts.
Not quite a few people picked holes in the judgement as it came as a rude shock to many who felt the judge was high handed in handing down the sentence as the man who claimed that unemployment led him into the crime.
Many were also surprised at the speed the case was concluded and compared the slow pace of judgement in cases involving politicians and treasury looters in the country.
Justice Ajumogobia had earlier acknowledge that the accused was a first offender with no record of conviction. This admission, many believe, should have led her to temper justice with mercy and give him a lighter sentence as well as rehabilitating him.
The teaser for the day was:
