Nigerians say they will return N45m paid in error into their account

71% of Pulse Nigeria Poll voters say they would return money paid in error into their accounts.

The man on the run, Jerry Ogbonna Obike Phillip

When the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), committed a grave error in crediting the account of  one Jerry Ogbonna Obike Phillip with the sum of N45 million, they must have thought that on realising their mistake, they could easily reverse it. But they did not reckon with the fact that Phillip would clear the whole money in one fell swoop and disappear into thin air.

Now, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has declared the man wanted for absconding with the money and are on the lookout for him.

With the current situation in the country, not many Nigerians would be willing to return such an amount, believing it is mother luck that smiles on them.

But there are some who would not be comfortable with keeping money that does not belong to them, no matter the amount involved.
