The Hollywood star has been a famous bachelor like forever, so why did he change is mind?

When People magazine first broke the news on Saturday, reporting that George Clooney had popped the question and that the couple was spotted dining in Malibu, Calif., Thursday, where Amal Alamuddin was showing off a huge engagement ring, many couldn't believe their eyes and ears.

George Clooney is Hollywood's most famous bachelor and a man who once told Barbara Walters in 1995 that he will never get married. "I won't get married again because I wasn't very good at it," he told Barbara Walters back in a 1995 interview. He's said much more on the subject of love and marriage, over here.

He's also dated a lot of fine women in Hollywood including model and former wrestler Stacy Keibler from 2011-2013. The couple broke up and Keibler is now expecting her first child with new husband Jared Pobre.

Now, Clooney, 52, and Alamuddin, a 36-year-old British human rights lawyer are heading for the alter, perhaps soon! Both were first reported to be dating back in October 2013 and were famously photographed in March during a safari in Tanzania.

The talk now is many believe the actor is most interested in her because she's allegedly not interested in the entertainment world and is very focused and independent.

This would be the second marriage for Clooney, who was married to Talia Balsam from 1989-1993.
