A fight that broke out between two Nigerian men residing at the Beach Drive Road at Nungua in Accra, Ghana, has left one of them dead as the assailant stabbed the victim with a broken bottle, Starr News reports.

It was gathered that the duo of Marvelous Okere and Sunday Orga, both traders and close friends, had an argument over a missing toothbrush and the argument degenerated into a fight leading to Okere picking up a bottle, broke it and stabbed Ogar in the rib, leaving him bleeding profusely.

Ogar gave up the ghost after he was rushed to an hospital as he had lost a lot of blood.

The Greater Accra Regional Police spokesperson, Afia Tenge, said efforts to save the victim by doctors were futile.

“He had bled profusely and when he was rushed to the LEKMA Hospital, he passed on.”

But Okere reportedly told the police that he stabbed his friend in self defence after the late Ogar slapped him in the course of the fight.

Tenge said the suspect has been remanded in prison custody as investigation continues while the remains of the 27-year-old Orga has been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.

According to reports by some Nigerians residing in the area, the  duo had only arrived Ghana two weeks ago from Nigeria, and were squatting with their friends while trying to make ends meet.
