Beyonce Features Chimamanda Adichie On Her Newest Album

Beyonce collaborates with esteemed author Chimamanda Adiche on her new self titled album.

Grammy award winning artist Beyonce Knowles aka Mrs Carter released her 5th album’ “Beyoncé “ minutes before midnight yesterday . The a self titled visual album is available exclusively on iTunes. Bey made no declaration of intent to drop an album though there were speculations about it. Bey is on a whole different level as she blew people’s minds with her visual album consisting of 14 songs and a whopping 17 videos. For those who cant wait to see the videos, Beyonce released a thirty second preview of all her videos on Youtube.

The announcement of the album launch caused Bey fans all over the world to go into a frenzy causing iTunes to crash and Beyonce to trend on Twitter in the United Kingdom where she is currently on tour.

Nigerian respected novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was featured alongside Beyonce in her new single ‘***flawless’. Though Chimamanda’s face wasn’t shown, she went into electrifying feminist rant saying :

“We teach girls to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller

We say to girls – you can have ambition, but not too much

You should aim to be successful but not too successful otherwise you will threaten the man

Because I am female I am expected to aspire to marriage

I am expected to make my life choices always keeping in mind that marriage is the most important

A marriage can be a source of joy and love and mutual support

But why do we teach girls to aspire to marriage and we don’t teach boys the same?

We raise girls to see each other as competitors not for jobs or for accomplishments,

Which I think can be a good thing

But for the attention of men

We teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings in the way that boys are

Feminist: A person who believes in the economic, social and political equality of the sexes.”

The album also features husband Jay-Z, daughter Blue Ivy, Drake and Frank Ocean. Her album drop was unconventional, no one does it like Beyonce.She is not called Queen B for nothing.
