Rachel Dolezal is white but identifies with blacks

Disgraced race activist Rachel Dolezal has finally admitted she was born white but still maintains that she identifies as black.

The former National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP) leader came clean on national TV on Monday.

"I was biologically born white, to white parents," the 37-year-old told the co-hosts of Fox's "The Real."

Dolezal, who is believed to be pregnant with a baby boy , resigned from the NAACP in June after being outed as white by her estranged parents.

During a tense grilling with The Real's panel, Dolezal explained: "Sometimes how we feel is more powerful then how we are born.

"Blackness can be defined as philosophical, cultural, biological, a lot of different things for a lot of different people. I do think you have to walk the walk if that's how you are."

Some of Dolezal’s explanations didn’t sit well with the hosts, specifically Tamar Braxton, who seemed completely dumbfounded when Dolezal claimed that she has “absolutely” walked the walked of a black woman.

After struggling to answer questions about on race, Dolezal seemed to finally win over the hosts and crowd when she admitted, “I acknowledge I was biologically born white, to white parents, and I identify as black.”

Rachael Dolezal went viral in June 2015, and sparked a national debate about racial identity when she was accused of lying about her own. Her parents exposed her stating that their daughter had been trying to "disguise herself" as African-American.

They presented a copy of their daughter’s Montana birth certificate, and said that she is of German and Czech heritage.

In July, it was also reported that she had resorted to doing weaves and braiding hair three times a week to make ends meet after losing her job.
