Murder suspect admits to killing victim due to bad mood

The suspect's father, Richard Lewis believes that his son is not capable of committing murder despite incriminating evidence.

According to the New York Post, the suspect hit and choked Vetrano close to his Brooklyn residence over a domestic issue.

The murder which took place on August 2, 2017 occurred Lewis was on his way to get a meal.

“I was angry. I had some issues at home. I just lost it. When I saw her, I just hit her and kept hitting her. I hit her and choked her," the suspect said in a statement.

Lewis, who was made following the discovery of his DNA in the finger nails of the deceased has been charged with second-degree murder.

In a feat of rage, the victim's mother, Cathie Vetrano, threw down on him towards the end of his hearing calling him a savage murderer.

“A savage murderer! He f- -king murdered my daughter, my beautiful innocent daughter! Now your nightmare begins!”

“He’s a demon! He should be in hell and burn in hell!," she said.

In addition to his murder charge, the New York Police Department (NYPD) also revealed that the suspect will be slammed with sexual assault following a discovery relating to rape.

Richard Lewis, 70, who identified himself as the suspect's father however insisted that his son is not responsible for the murder.

He described him as a "humble kid" and believed that he is not the sort to get involved in such crime.
