Mother, son rescued after 5 days in Colombian jungle
Mother and son were survivors of the the Cessna 303 crashed last Saturday in the jungle. The baby had no injuries while his mother had minor wounds as well as small burns.
How else will you describe a mother Nelly Murillo, 18, and her son Yudier Moreno who is not yet a year old, being rescued alive after five days in the dangerous Columbian jungle.
Colonel Hector Carrascal, commander of the Colombian Air Force in Antioquia department said, "It's a miracle. It is a very wild area and it was a catastrophic accident."
"His mother's spirit must have given him strength to survive" he added. After the crash a search and rescue team made up of 14 people searched the jungle for survivors.
Unfortunately the pilot of the plane, Captain Carlos Mario Ceballos, died.
