At 80 years old, Mrs Nash is far from ready to call her life-long occupation quits.
80-yr-old flight attendant will not be quitting anytime soon
At 80-years-old, Mrs Bette Nash has been a fight attendant for almost 60 years and is not ready to quit.
Mrs Nash started her career on November 4, 1957, working with Eastern Airlines, now American Airlines, at 21-year-old and believes she may be America's longest-serving flight attendant.
Speaking with MailOnline Travel, Mrs Nash reflected on her career saying: "My favourite stories all include being able to help our customers and feel like my job puts me in a position to give them a little special care and kindness.
"I love all our regular customers and meeting new ones. I have truly enjoyed all the countless interactions with passengers and there are too many to recount."
She revealed that she had been drawn to the glamour of the job and the romance of the skies.
"I was lured by the joy of travel and the opportunity to meet all the people."
At the time Mrs Nash first started working, planes were as much a luxury as were the vacations with flight attendants serving meals wearing white gloves and people allowed to smoke onboard.
Although the industry has change so much over the years, Mrs Nash's love for her job has only increased.
Mrs Nash who is mother to a special needs son, and just loves to travel, is very grateful for her job.
"These blessings include my good health. I've had a wonderful career and it's allowed me the flexibility to balance my personal life.
"The job accommodates my need to care for him (my son) as well. But equally important to me personally, it's just been a perfect career path.
"I know it may sound a little cliché, but I love meeting the people and that's what has kept me loving the job through the years."
According to Mrs Nash, the most shocking change she has experienced in her job was the advancement in technology.
She has recently had to learn to do things digitally as the airline has now switched paper manuals to tablets and now make credit card sales and access most work-related tools online.
"I've always taken it one day at a time and I continue to do so.
"Going from all the manual ways of doing business. It's been constantly changing with automation and enhancements to create a better experience for the customers and us as crew members."
Although Mrs Nash admits that technology has increased significantly through her career, she believes it can never replace her job. As long as her health holds up, the aged woman has no plans to retire.
She said: "Why not work? It's still fun. I'm holding out at least for my Diamond Jubilee (60 years) like Queen Elizabeth."
