Pastor's buttocks eaten by Lion after he tried to prove the ‘Lord’s power over animals’

Alec Ndiwane, a Zion church leader, was on safari with fellow members of his church when he decided to show how God would save him if he approached a group of Lions.

Ndiwane, who calls himself a ‘prophet’ was said to have approached the animals speaking in tongues and shouting 'Fire, Jesus, Holyspirit'

But the man quickly realised God was not going to save him after the lions gave chase, very much viewing him as prey. Metro UK reported.

The church leader sprinted back to the car but not before one of the animals sunk his jaws into his bum, Ghanaweb reported.

He was only saved when one of the zoo kepers fired his gun into the air to scare the lions off.

Ndiware was taken to hospital where emergency surgeons stitched up the injuries to his behind and he was later discharged.

He said: "I do not know what came over me. I thought the Lord wanted to use me to show his power over animals."

This is not the first time pastors and prophets have attempted to prove the word of God by visiting a lion's den.

In 1991, a man of God in the ancient city of Ibadan, Nigeria once stormed the lion's den under the inspiration of the biblical Daniel's story and ended up being eaten alive by the wild animal.

In Taiwan, a lion attacked a man who jumped into the animal's enclosure and shouted "Jesus will save you!" in 2004.
