The boy drew a picture of a man cutting a cucumber but apparently mispronounced the word as ‘cooker bomb’. Mirror UK reported.
4-yr-old boy listed as terror suspect after he mispronounced ‘cucumber’ as ‘cooker bomb’
Staff of a nursery school reported a boy to the police after he mispronounced the word ‘cucumber’, his family say.
As a result the nursery school suggested the boy's mother enroll him in a de-radicalisation programme called Channel.
"[The member of staff] kept saying it was this one picture of the man cutting the cucumber….which she said to me is a ‘cooker bomb’, and I was baffled," the mother, who has asked not to be identified, told the BBC.
She added that she feared her children would be taken away from her.
The case was later sent to the police and social services panel. And they decided not to take further action.
This comes just month after a 10-year old Muslim school boy was suspended from school after he wrote that he lived in a 'terrorist house' instead of a 'terraced house'.
This error found him and his family probed by the police.
Since July, teachers and public service workers have had a legal obligation to report any concerns of extremist behaviour to the authorities.
