The dark art of getting a sugar daddy and keeping your lover faithful

In Nigeria, there are women who buy love potions and charms to keep men and entrap sugar daddies.

Growing up, I watched many scenes in Yoruba movies where a woman would put a love charm in a food or on herself to entrap a man.

The unsuspecting man will fall head over heels for her and would be at beck and call, spoiling her with gifts.

In 1994, the smash Nollywood hit 'Glamour Girls' was released. Apart from being the first Nigerian movie that I saw that had a billboard, the scene where one of the female characters used the water she used to clean her private part to cool for a man struck deeply. My young mind was like “what the hell is going on?”

Of course, the man couldn’t stop licking his lips when he ate the food. Apart from the sex scene of Eucharia Anunobi and Zack Orji in the bathtub, the ‘wash put’ scene was very popular. D’banj would refer to some women using their body fluids to snag a man in his 2008 single ‘Suddenly’.

Apart from washing put or cooking put, there are various other forms of love potions. While at the University of Lagos, a female friend of mine told me about how a set of runs girls in their hostel had their bath with a special type of soap. She also said that the chicks wore traditional waist beads.

Now, according to cultural mythology waist beads can be used apart for aesthetic reasons. It is believed many women of the flesh get special waist beads from herbalists to entrap men.

As for soaps, that should not come as a surprise. It is quite common. It is so common in fact that a lady who poses to be a trader in the business has started selling her charms online.

Ran by a lady called Jemilat, the site Sugar Daddy Kit offers a range of products to help you snag a rich old man who would do all your financial bidding.

According to Jemilat, her knowledge in the trade was passed down from her grandmother. “My grandfather, a very wealthy Yoruba man had married 11 wives before marrying my grandmother, a Shuwa Arab woman. Within a year all 11 wives were thrown out by him.

“He loved and lived with only my grandmother till he passed on.  He did her bidding and was always under her spell. She taught me how to make her love charms and spells” she brags on her website.

Her range of products include ‘Be obsessed with me’, ‘give me before I ask’, ‘I dominate you’, ‘only rich men should call me’ among others. Talk about an e-commerce site that sells a range of products to help you snag and spiritually manipulate a sugar daddy.

Herbalists do not only offer their services to runs girls who want to move to a higher tax bracket and fly to Dubai on a weekly basis. Love potions are also used to tie down male lovers with a wavering eye.

Another female friend would confirm this to me years ago. She said a mutual friend of hers offered to take her to her herbalist who would help come up with a potion that would make her boyfriend be loyal. She declined the offer.

These days, if you believe some Instagram stories you don’t have to be a herbalist or spiritualist. Some women have confessed online to cooking meals for their partner with their menstrual discharge. They claim it worked wonders and made their men go crazy over them.

To some love is magic. While others get a sparkling feeling because of love, others actually buy or create potions to get a lover and a whole lot of money as well.
