4-yr-old daughter consoles mum after fiancé is killed (footage)
A new emotional footage of the shooting of Philando Castle has emerged.
Castile was shot at six times by the police officer, Officer Jeronimo Yanez. In the clip which was released as a result of a Freedom Of Information request made by Mr Tony Webster, we can see Castile's fiancée Ms Reynolds in tears. She has been arrested and handcuffed. Her 4-year-old daughter was consoling her in the footage.
"Please don't scream because I don't want you to get shooted... I can keep you safe" her daughter said.
"They not going to shoot me ok... I'm already in handcuffs" replies Ms Reynolds.
Officer Yanez had told the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension in an interview a day after the deadly incident that he stopped Castile initially because he matched the description of a gas station robber a week earlier.
The police officer said he could smell marijuana in the deceased's car when he pulled him over. After being pulled over, Castile told Yanez that he had a gun. He was a licensed gun owner. When he reached to get his driver license he was shot six times.
Officer Yanez was accused of manslaughter but was found not guilty last week in St Paul, Minnesota. The verdict raised more controversies in the United States.
