42-yr-old man in prison for fondling 15-yr-old girl's genitals

A 42-year-old man has been remanded in prison by a Lagos court for allegedly fondling the private parts of his neighbour's daughter.

An Ogba Magistrates Court sitting in Lagos State has ordered a 42-year old man,

The order was given by the presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Davis Abegunde, who also mandated the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the Directorate of Public prosecution (DPP), for advice.

The incident as reported by PM Express happened at Adebakin Street in Ketu where the suspect resides with the victim’s parents.

It was gathered that Idowu had lured the victim to his apartment and allegedly removed her pant and proceeded to fondle her vagina without her consent.

After the act, the suspect allegedly warned the girl not to tell anybody what he had done but the victim later reported the matter to her parents who reported to the police, leading to his arrest and prosecution.

When the one-count charge of sexual abuse was read to Idowu, he pleaded not guilty and the court granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He was however remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition while the case was adjourned to another date.
