The One Lagos Brand Launch kickstarted yesterday, July 27, at the Bar Beach, with veteran singer, 9ice, thrilling fans with an impressive list of hits.

Billed to last three days, the first day of the event provided a glimpse of what is to be expected on the subsequent days, July 28 and 29, as performances from two dance troupes, the energy and effervescence of MC Jimmy, and MTV’s VJ, Ehis, as well as music by artistes such as Sexy Steel, and most notably, 9ice, showed the intent of the Lagos state government in organising the grand event.

The opening night also coincided with the birthday of the Honorable Commissioner of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Folorunsho Folarin-Coker, who was treated to a rendition of the birthday song by DJ Spinall, DJ Neptune and members of the audience who chorused along with the tune blaring out of the speakers.

One Lagos is the brainchild of the Lagos State ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, in continuance of Governor Ambode’s desire to boost the economy of the state through tourism and culture.

Expectations have soared over the past few weeks among fans of music and fun-lovers in the state considering the impressive list of artistes and entertainers billed to perform over the course of three days.

After 9ice’s performance last night, rendering several songs such as Party Rider, Angeli, the monstrous hit, Gongo Aso, among many others, there is no doubt that Lagosians’ appetites have now been well and truly whetted for what is to come in the remaining days of the event.

Artistes such as Super-star musicians D’banj and Olamide, alongside Adekunle Gold, Chidinma, Saeon, Tillaman, Skuki, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Ice Prince, Vector, Dammy Krane, Humble Smith, LAX, CDQ, Skuki, and Seyi Shay are still expected to perform, with Friday, July 29th poised to be the biggest, grandest night.

One Lagos Brand Launch has begun. It promises to be better on the second day, and reach a crashing crescendo on the final day.
