A Nigerian man who was of the 164 deportees who voluntarily returned from Libya, became so emotional on seeing his fatherland yet again that he promptly went down on his knees on coming down from the plane to give thanks to God.

The man who had fled the country in search of the proverbial golden fleece in Europe but ended up in the North African country like many others, was heard giving thanks to God and the Nigerian government for rescuing him and others from the hell they were made to go through by the Libyan security officials.

The man who could not believe his luck that he had been freed from the dungeon, promptly went down on his knees to thank God immediately the plane bringing them back touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos State, on Thursday, May 25, 2017.

Many Nigerian deportees have been telling of their ordeals in the hands of the Libyan officials who made them go through so many demeaning tortures like rape, physical assault, starvation and all kinds of inhuman treatment.
