A Nigerian man whose wife runs a group home in the United States has been arrested for allegedly raping a mentally challenged woman.
Busted Newspaper reports that Nwankwo who works at the group home was arrested last month after he allegedly raped the woman who lives in the house.
Nwankwo of 527 Breswall Court in Rolesville, was charged with second-degree forcible rape and sexual activity by a substitute parent.
Two officers on patrol along Merrell Drive in East Raleigh said they saw a suspicious car in a secluded area at about 10 am on the day of the incident. When they went to check, they found Nwankwo in the car with the woman.
Police say the two of them were not fully clothed and immediately noticed that the female victim had a possible cognitive impairment.
According to the warrant of arrest, the woman's mental capacity did not give her the ability to provide consent.
The suspect is being held in the Wake County jail under a $1.5 million bond.
