Narrow Escape Police thwarts boyfriend who planned to use his girlfriend for money rituals

A secondary school girl had a close call with death IN Ibadan after her boyfriend drugged her and tried to use her for money rituals, Police say.

It was gathered that Ruth, student of an unnamed school in Abuja, had been in Ibadan  to spend the Easter holiday with her mother when the incident occurred.

Her boyfriend, Chubuike Omigbo, 33, who deals in construction materials at the Iwo Road area of Ibadan was arrested and paraded alongside the herbalist, Oladimeji Babatunde Ajala, 37, by the Oyo State Police Command on Friday.

Giving details of the crime to newsmen, the state Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr. Leye Oyebade said that the suspects had planned to use the girl for money making ritual before the evil planned was undone by the police.

The suspects, he said, were arrested following a tip-off by a police informant when the duo were planning to use the girl for money ritual.

”The victim’s boyfriend, Chibuike, had lured her to the herbalist’s residence at No5, Galilee street, Olodo area of the state for the purpose of the ritual." he said.

When questioned by Newsmen, however, the two suspects denied any plan to use the girl for ritual.
