Toddler rescued as kidnapper is arrested in Benue

A member of a kidnap gang that abducted a primary school pupil in Benue State was arrested in the act.

But it was not so good for one of the kidnappers, Aondolumum Nyimkaan, who was nabbed while others escaped from the scene.

According to eyewitnesses, Nyimkaan had gone into the premises of the St. Michael’s Nursery and Primary School, Aliade, while his gang members waited outside the school.

After snatching the child, Nyimkaan allegedly tried to flee through the bush to meet his gang members when some members of the community saw him and raised an alarm which brought CJTF men who went after him and arrested him in the bush.

On interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to having successfully kidnapped children in Igbor of Gwer East and Gboko Local Governments of the state.
